MPC X cannot save to internal disk

Hello - pretty new to MPC but loving it
have a used MPC X and it works fine but i cant save to the internal disk or delete any projects on there - it throws an error

i can save to the compact flash card so am able to use the machine but want to sort out why the disk doesnt allow any writing - it may be full otr have some write protection - is it safe to do some form of factory reset - i dont want to lose all the samples that came on the machine tho!

is there a way to browse the contests of the disk ?
