If you have an MPC Key 61, could you confirm where all the synths are physically stored? Are any pre-installed on the 32GB internal factory drive or did you still have to download them to an attached USB or SATA disk via the 'Activate Plugins' screen? I'm talking about all the plugins including the free ones like Solina, Mellotron, Hype etc.

Basically, I'm trying to work out how to install a folder of custom plugin presets in standalone as there appears no way to do this yet.

Basically, are all the synths still stored inside a 'Synths' folder on a separate attached MPC disk, or are some now stored on the internal factory drive?

All are pre-installed on the 32GB internal factory drive. Turn on the machine and play, no downloading or activating needed.

where is the [free] synth content for the 2.11 update?
before it was a DL you had to put on ext. storage but i don't see that DL any more on the AKAI site
they now have a synth content manager (instead) ?
-e.g. if you'd go from 2.8 to 2.11

The popup is reactivated for two reasons.

Firstly, in case people are upgrading from a firmware older than 2.10, in which case they'd miss out on Hype, Solina etc.

Second, to get you access to the new paid/trial instruments, it's like a direct download portal.

There are no new free instruments if you already have Hype.

There are new and free plugin effects, you can find most of them in the harmonics section of the plugin effects popup.

To confirm, I'm looking at how we can install folders of custom presets for the synths, as I wanted to offer plugin presets that can be browsed from 'Sounds'.

Currently it's not too much of a problem with the X/Live/One, you can just paste them directly to the 'Synths' folder on the SD/SSD. On the MPC Key it seems they are stored on the internal drive, so we can't paste anything to that. Akai unfortunately have not built any way for third party developers to distribute presets for these new synths, other than to load one at a time into the plugin (and have to manually save it to your user folder, one at a time!). I thought I'd sussed it, but now the MPC Key storing all content on the internal drive has put a spanner in that method.

Do you know what the size of that content is? Asking for a friend hehehe.
