Hey guys,

the pads on my live mk2 came loose at the top and bottom rows and now stick out in a funny way, making the contact surface very unresponsive for said pads. Therefore I need to readjust the pads onto the surface and maybe do some cleaning.
Is there any way to make the pads lay tigther on the sensors? What about the cork mod?
Also any tips/advice on opening the Live Mk2? A bit worried about the amount of screws and cables, although I've done plenty of mods on other pieces of gear.

I haven't opened a Live 2, but have opened a Live 1 and Touch, same pad set up, just re-seating the pads should probably do the trick. Although I'm not sure how they came away in the first place, seems pretty difficult to do that. I think MPC Stuff sell 'corx' sheets for the Live 2, this will reduce any gaps between rubber and sensor, but not sure if they are compatible with the factory Akai pads, perhaps only needed for the mpcstuff fat pads. You should contact MPCstuff for more info on that. Or experiment with layers of electric tape, old school style.

Thanks for the quick reply.
What were your experiences with the old school electric tape mod? Did it improve sensitivity? I feel like the sensitivity right now is all over the place and not consistent unless the pads have perfect contact to the sensors. I'm not sure myself how the pads got loose tbh
