Ok- thanks for all the responses to my other posts- I have another question regarding using 2 mpcs.

I am trying to sync an mpc live1 with an mpc one. I know midi- I can sync them that way, no problem. But I’m interested in some of the stuff I see on this forum regarding ableton link. Initially I assumed I needed ableton or a computer, but now I realize I don’t.

So- my question: can I use link with an Ethernet cable using an Ethernet to usb connector on my live, going into the Ethernet port on the mpc one? Is that all I need, other than setting up static ip addresses on both? It seems too good to be true, tbh.

Ableton Link does not require a computer (or Ableton Live). I believe I did what you're suggesting years ago just to test it, though I might be misremembering... I am quite sure that you can can use the ethernet ports as they are... you'd just need a crossover cable if you're not going through a hub, and assign each a static IP address.

I am pretty sure it is just about that simple.
