Hi, My MPC X is doing some really odd things. Sometimes it just stops and then starts again. Also a sound sometimes just stops playing. Some days it works okay and others it just dicks about - I’m sure it’s to do with the last firmware update, but don’t know where to turn now for a fix?!

MENU > PREFERENCES > RESET PREFERENCES. Might help.

Also check that your internal drive has plenty of free space available, the MPC needs some space for virtual memory, swapping or whatever the technical terms are.

And as per many posts on this forum, if you at any point deleted your factory expansions and demos off the internal drive, you do risk instability and would need to contact Akai to obtain a factory content re-installer.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice. I’ve tried to reset preferences many times before but it doesn’t seem to help.

I do have plenty of free internal disk space and I haven’t deleted any of the factory libraries either.

In fact right now there is a bass sound I’m using from the factory presets that is causing no end of trouble?!

I’m starting to wonder if I need a professional engineer to look at it!

Driving me nuts!!!

Did this behavior happen in older firmware versions?
