Hi, please does anyone know..

is there any way to trigger sample with external midi cc device in standalone? I found a lot of "control change" parameters in the midi learn target list but nothing that could be used as note-on/off with CC (with cc80 for example). I have an beat bars EX3 usb pedal. There is possibility to reprogram it to: polyphonic pressure (aftertouch), control change, channel pressure (aftertouch), pitch bend change, timing clock even with changing specific CC or velocity range (for MPC always seeable as Abs CC)

I just simpy wanted to use it as pad sometime - like ≤63 off, ≥64 on, like note-on/off midi function on midi keyboard. I know its different kind of midi signal but i tought in 2022(3) is no problem to convert it or use cc signal to simply one hit play.

So shortly - want to use external usb midi cc signal to play kick drum pad.
Maybe i just simply overlooked something.

Any idea or hack? (trigger by q-link control and q-link by midi cc or something?)
Thanks
:worthy:

Ok, for those who are interested. After enable controller in settings and learn midi I just change "abs CC" (knob parameter) to "momentary" (on/off parameter)... and it works - for track or pad mute on/off forexample. Obviously something missing anyway. There is still nothing more than parameter change functions in target list. No start/stop or anything else from general mpc functions. :hmmm:
What a Fffffff......ox! :WTF:

Try sending MMC commands (e.g. SysEx F0 7F 7F 06 02 F7 etc.).

Thanks, but I didn't already reach "midi ninja level" (like you obviously) and I'm affraid I can't do that. Even if it's look like a solution. Anyway, producer of midi EX3 pedal told me that function note on/off is not implemented yet - most likely will be.. one day. MPC does not allow adding of new midi function target for CC. :fku:

So I start thinking about possibility of outputing this signal, modify it by mpc itself and put it back to another input.. But it seems like little bit desperate idea to me.

MPC can only convert a note's velocity to a CC value. probably the reverse is not possible.

Damn,..
Beat bars told me: In the FS3 footswitch, you can only toggle between two different notes (two Note On MIDI events on one on/off button), and there's no Note Off message implemented.

it sounds to me like - play/stop yes, note on/of nope.

I'm little bit scared you're right. Theres probably no way to reverse conversion. But I'l try it.
I still cannot understand why Akai doesn't build in bridge command for write notes to every kind of midi signal. I tought it should be primal function of every music production center.
Thanks for help anyway,

SOLVED!!! Just fully enable controller in Midi/sync preferences. Learn and enable midi mapping. + Add new. Set SOURCE: Program-yourProgram-bankA/PadNumber (works in actual bank anyway). TARGET: OFF. Push controller. Disable learn. TYPE change from cc to momentary. Pad works on MPC Live standalone as 0 off, ≥0 on +aftertouch. You can record note of actual bank selected pad number(1-16) with low velocity. With mpc software it worked as ≤63 off, ≥64 on full level. Hope it will help someone one day. Controller setup was Cc1, other does not work for note record btw.
