My MPC Live 2 died. It started by not charging and once the battery died it won't power up at all. I bought a new power adapter and it does not charge either. I am 3 months out of warranty. The CARRIER ASSEMBLY - AKAI MPC LIVE II MK2 - 1AAL9-79-075214 cost $296. Can I just by the barrel connect and solder it to the existing board?

Double Check the New Adaptor Voltage Ratings, Also check the Voltage on the Old Charger. You said the MPC was working until the battery died. So It should still work when you Fully Charge the Battery

Does the internal red light flash at all? Orange light for the psu ?

Couple of things

Unlikely but could be a cable/connection problem with the battery

Secondly, I’ve seen more than one live come back to life after a few days being left alone and plugged in

I left it charged for a couple of days, it still didn't charge or power up. I bought a new Retro edition and switched the chargers out and it is still dead. The old charger does not charge the new MPC LIVE 2. So I'm guessing the charger went bad and ruined the MPC. I'll put this to the side until the carrier assembly 1AAL9-79-075214 comes back in stock. I'll change it out myself and then go from there. Thanks for all of your help on this.
