Mpc live sp-1200 sync issue

Trying to slave a rossum sp to the mpc live, I used to slave sps all the time with older mpcs.

I have everything set in the live correctly to send midi and clock and the sp-1200 set to MIDI. The sp will only slave if I’m in record mode on the midi track in the live wtf? if I just press play on the live the sp won’t start or play. So strange. Also if the sp is set to “internal” in the midi settings then the mpc will trigger the start stop on the sp-1200, but won’t control tempo.

Any thoughts? I don’t know where else to turn at this point.

Two Questions:

1. What OS are you running?
2. Have you tried downgrading/upgrading to a different OS ver on your MPC, and then trying again?

From what i've gathered here, it seems 2.10 is solid... (I am downgrading from 2.11.7 to 2.10 on my X as we speak)
