Hi,

I have my Mpc Live since 2017, always had clock problems but right now i can´t have sync in Master or in Slave mode, it´s always off! I´m running 2.11.8, i´ve tryed to downgrade till 2.10 and is always the same. Dont know what to do more. This problem happens with Midi Clock and with Ableton Link.

Anyone can help me?

thx

Too many variables.

What are you trying to sync?
Midi USB?
Midi full fat?
Got a pic of your settings?
What have you tried?
Standalone?
Controller mode?
What gear are you trying to sync?

Fwiw I've had terrible results with sending clock to the mpc from ableton via midi. Ableton sync has been OK but not great. Best results when directly connected to the octatrack, reviving clock and transport, and not connected to the pc.

Cheers

Thx for the reply Patientrichard,

So, normally i use the MPC Live in standalone mode, sync with other instruments like Digitone, Korg EMX-1, Beatstep Pro, etc, normally i do that with MIDI DIN as Master, but some time ago, it started to get of sync in Master Mode, when i use the MPC in Slave Mode, i have much better syncronization than when i´m in Master Mode, weird right?!? When i am using Ableton Link i get about +/- 14ms of delay. I´ve tryied all, downgrading the OS to 2.10, right now im using 2.11.8, reset all preferences, just sync with one machine, all of the others disconnected, tryied diferent midi cables. And it´s of sync when i send midi clock or when i send just midi.

don´t know what to do...

That's strange.

To confirm - this is an audible drift, and not just the standard 'jitter'? I only ask as the Elektron devices usually show the midi timing slightly moving, but isn't audible.

Have you deconstructed the rig, and gone through each device, to rule out anything weird happening on another bit of kit?

You're using clock and not mmt?

Is you tc set to a ridiculous amount of swing?

I'm sure you've checked everything, so I'm just troubleshooting

Is "very" audible, is between 14/20ms. I´ve deconstructed the setup several times, just tying with one machine and it stays the same.
I´m using midi clock, the swing is at 50%, i´ve tryied it all.
Right now, i only can use it, with the rest of the setup, in controller mode, because i can "delay" the rest of the machines with ableton.

same here.

what crazy about this issue is I set up midi delay compensate (for me it's between 6~9ms.), when I record using session view, there is more latency between Ableton and Mpc.

I'm slowly migrating whole thing to Ableton, even though mpc is fun!
