Sorry in advance for the rookie question.

Adding FX to a pad/sound is easy. Adding FX to the outs or a sub mix is easy. I don’t know how to add FX to a single note. Sometimes, I’ll want FX on a specific note of a sound/pad that I use throughout a song without FX. (Think a delay every 4th time that sound comes in, but no delay the three times it comes in before that 4th time.)

There has to be an easy way to do this.

This x1000.

You “tie” fx to pads, programs, route’s.
Automation can be done, that method is much more involved imo.

I knew you could do this.. but I was hoping not to have to waste a pad just for this purpose. But, if that’s what I have to do, I’ll do it, I suppose.

I mean, it’s not a waste, you have 128 pads, are you actively using every one of them?
You can also resample, delete the og pads from the project and you end up with 1 pad, printed audio sample. I’m betting you wont go that route.

Try adding the effect via the automation lane, in grid mode. You can then draw in when the effect happens, so you can choose just one note for it to appear on.

Yeah yeah. I know. I’m admittedly just being a little pissy about it.

And, no. I will not be resampling solely for this specific purpose.

I don't like the re-sampling route either, I'll go non-destructive EVERY chance I get unless I ABSOLUTELY need to print wav's, which is almost never anyway.

Messing with X now and just came up with something else.
Place whatever effect on a RETURN, place that return on a Q-LINK, in real-time, sequence plays and when the note comes up just turn the q-link up (set for MOMENTARILY).
The result, real-time tweakable, also recordable via automations.

cocosushi is right.

main menu, channel mixer, return, set up your effects slots.

Main menu, q-link edit, choose track, program, choose a knob, parameter, send 1-4., momentary.

Yea....in your case....I would copy that note to another pad in the Sequence and Add the FX to that new Pad. Easiest way

This is interesting. I’ll play around with this tonight. Cheers.
