Finish project in the software, from standalone

Hey guys,

I've made some projects on my MPC LIVE 2 standalone. Now I want to open the project in my MPC software to finish it. Can anyone guide me on how to open my saved projects? (located on the internal MPC).

As above though once it's on the thumb drive/SD card you can access these from pc via the usb3 connection in controller mode

If you use any standalone plugins you will need to install them from the plugin manager.

Thanks for the responses. So there is no way to access the files from the internal stock MPC drive via the usb3 connection? I'm obligated to save my projects to a SD card first?

Correct. Other than a template I have saved nothing to the internal storage.

I haven't, just recently got into the MPC Live 2. I've read A LOT about it and watched at least 20+hrs of videos about it but I haven't read ALL posts about it, no.

So conclusion: AKAI gives you an internal drive, ALLOWS it for you to save files to it but then again strongly advises not do it? But then again AKAI also doesn't include a SD card (at least a small one so you can start right out the box) instead of having to make another purchase right after receiving your $1300 product to AT LEAST be able to save your projects?

No. The mpc community recommends against saving to the internal drive mainly because it’s inaccessible via USB, a PITA to back up content stored on it and filling up the drive can cause instability and stop certain features working, such as audio bouncing.

Akai clearly don’t have an issue with people using the internal drive.

So it seems that they've succesfully crowdsourced support to the "community"...

Well, they should. Look at all the downsides you listed. They should just bring out a software update to disable saving to the internal drive and include at least a small SD with all MPC's. That's my opinion.

Once you've got an internal or flash drive, the internal should never be a default save directory.
