hi, new to the forum. i searched some but didn’t find an answer. if there is an existing post that could help with this, please point me in the right direction. i’m trying to control the dreadbox typhon with my mpc one. i’ve got usb cable connected as well as 1/4” cables from typhon to mpc and then out to mixer/monitors. i think i’ve got the midi settings correct, but maybe i’m missing something. also, it looks like i’m getting signal in the mpc from typhon. mpc is at 2.9.1(plan on updating soon) firmware and typhon is 4.1. when i tap the pads it shows signal in the level meter. i wish i could post pics of the setup for easier help. if there is a way to do that please let me know. any help on this would be much appreciated

Dreadbox Typhon only supports 48 Khz sample rate in USB Class Compliant mode, but MPC/Force requires 44.1 Khz sample rate in USB Class Compliant mode, so I'm afraid Typhon doesn't work as an audio interface. I've reached out to Dreadbox requesting that they support 44.1 Khz sample rates, but they claim the hardware can't support it. :hmmm:

As for USB-MIDI, that works fine on both MPC/Force with Typhon. Do you have it activated in your MPC's MIDI devices?

i want to be able to use the pads to play typhon as well as the usb midi thing i’m trying to solve. so you’re saying that’s not possible because of the sampling rate discrepancy? as for usb midi issue, i’m getting signal on the mpc screen in the midi track when i hit the pads, but i get no sound. i’ve got usb coming out of typhon into usb on mpc, 1/4” coming out of typhon into mpc, then 1/4” into mixer. on typhon i’ve got midi channel 1 input/output and same on mpc. i tried selecting different devices mpc and/or typhon on mpc midi track screen. i’ve got to be doing something wrong, a setting somewhere i’m missing maybe?

Huh? No, I never said that - I should have been more clear. The audio sampling rate doesn't have anything to do with using USB-MIDI - I was just pointing out if you're trying to use USB-Audio via your Typhon and your MPC/Force, it 'aint happening. Using your MPC/Force pads to trigger Typhon is of course easily accomplished via USB-MIDI.

Am I understanding that you are sending the 1/4" ouputs on your Typhon into your MPC's 1/4" sampling inputs? If so, do you have your Sample Input set to "Monitor" on the Sampling page?

If you’re looking to pass Typhon audio through the MPC with the latter acting as a controller, remember to be working on an audio track rather than a MIDI one, and with Monitor set to ‘In’ on the Track View screen. Also ensure your Record Level control (0n the rear beside the 1/4" inputs) is turned up.

Just to clarify, as long as the monitor is set to "on" on the Sample page, you don't have to work on an audio track while triggering/controlling via MIDI to hear what you're sending into the MPC/Force.

thanks for all the replies. i won’t have a chance to try these out for a couple days, but i’ll let you know my results. ty again
