Quick question about midi mapping - external midi keyboards

Hey,

I was just watching a tubedigga video on midi mapping, but he's doing it all on the software, which I don't use. The reason I got a MPC was to get away from computers...

Anyway, can I midi map the transport controls to an external midi keyboard, and do I need to use the software to do that? I've been trying to do it from the unit alone but I can only find a very limited amount of options.

Side question; does anyone have an old version of the desktop software? I just updated mine and then remembered I'm on a 2012 mac and it won't run the latest version.

There is no "mapping external MIDI buttons to transport controls" in MPC STANDALONE mode.

Either your external midi controller supports sending MMC messages DIRECTLY or you can't do anything of the sort, not without YOU hacking the MPC via SSH, search the forum about that.

AND yes, the MPC Software supports "mapping external MIDI buttons to transport controls", not the MPC Standalone.
