Hey there. I’m baffled by (yet another) odd behaviour in my MPC X and I wonder if anyone can offer a solution. I’ve looked in the manual but no luck. Here’s my problem:
I am chopping up a long audio file (voice) and I need to copy/paste some of the chopped up regions across two tracks so I can overlap the end of one region with the start of the next (this could be easily done if there was a cross fade feature but I don’t want to get steamed up over that other oddity!). This is what I’m doing: I select an audio region and press shift/copy (I’m getting the same problem if I Cup/Paste. Then I place the play head exactly where I want to paste the copied audio region and press shift/paste. The copied region gets pasted but at a completely random place further on in the timeline! I can’t understand why that is happening. It’s not going to a location marker, or where the original clip was placed, or to an empty area of the track (in fact it often overwrites existing audio clips, which makes this issue not just a nuisance but a serious risk since one can inadvertently delete days of work.) Does any one see what I’m doing wrong? Thanks in advance for sharing your vast wisdom.
