Interesting, I was looking for the Muse Receptor when I came across this, do you know of a more reliable alternative?

I've been looking for a hardware VST host for years and seen a few expensive/buggy pieces of hardware come and go.....and never bought one for those reasons! Then I found out about the Linux equivalent to VST, the LV2 format and straight away bought a Mod Audio DuoX that hosts LV2's.

Sadly hardware development is no longer ongoing and sales have ceased, but it is available on the used market and software development as far as system updates and new plugins go are ongoing.

The good news is they have a newer model, the Mod Audio Dwarf!

I have upwards of 700 plugins on my DuoX, Synths (DX7 etc), distortions, modulations, amp sims, modular stuff etc etc. The damn thing even runs Cardinal which is a fully featured eurorack synth with a huge amount of real commercial modules from companies like Mutable Instruments FOR FREE!

Also now support Aida-X neural amp and cab modelling. You can model your own amps and distortion pedals or plugins or download from the forum.

And a link to the forum because I'm tired of typing this now, would rather be tapping on the MPC :smoker:

In summary :Sigh: I climbed out of the VST hardware host rabbit hole because it goes nowhere, I really suggest you all do the same. Any questions, just type them here and I'll do my best to answer ASAP.

I do like the look of this though

Even if it is just a controller with no host :WTF:

Aww man I was looking at the Mod Duo X a while ago and decided to go with the H9. Now I hardly use the H9 anymore. I see the Mod devices can do midi plugins as well as audio. I would've probably used it everyday. I don't want to pay 600 dollars for the dwarf but I see used Duo's are available from Reverb for around 300. I might have to pick one up.
