Hi, recently bought an mpc one after a 20 odd year break from using an akai s2000 and cubase, so slowly getting used to workflow!!

Few quick questions

1 on drum view, how do you manually extend existing notes. I used to do it years ago by drawing with a pencil item, but that just creates a new note. Appreciate you can record but I like to edit on sequencer.

2 can you have an option to listen to sample when recording?

3 other than manually deleting eronius percussion drum sounds from a sample does anyone have any good filter settings that help get rid instead?

4 how do you deal with complicated drum loops where mpc one doesn't calculate correct drum setting and you need to strech it?

Cheers in advance

1. Select the note, with the marquee tool and press "Edit Length".

2. Turn "Monitor" to "On" in the Record Menu

3. Use the Para EQ for precision cutting

4. I usually pitch up or down the drum break/ loop. If I have to pitch it up or down too much I look for another loop. You can use stretch and warp, but personally I am not a fan of that.

Thinking of picking up MPC1

Where are the velocity and duration?
(which have always been on the MPCs main screen and are quite vital) and what/ how have they been replaced?

Can you set up pad shortcuts to menus?
Are there shortcuts for zooming in and out? or switching moving between bars? and setting up seq loop?

thx!

Hmmm... No pad pressure modulation assignments?...
nor is parameter locking looking that sexy...
can automation on clips be recorded?...
clips can be triggered off the grid right?.. and be any length?
thx!

Grid Edit & List Edit.

You can reconfigure the layout of the shortcuts on the MENU screen and then use MENU + pad to jump to different modes. There's also a pull out menu on all screens that holds 5 (editable) shortcuts.

This is a touchscreen device, so you can just pinch and zoom. Or use the Qlinks.

seq loops, you just set them directly in MAIN using the START/END params there on screen. No shortcut needed.

locate points available to jump to specific locations. Or a variety of ways to move through a sequence (data wheel, Qlink, manually typing in required location etc).
