please help .

I had an mpc ages ago and had to let it go but still had lots of the files hanging around, and thought that the most i could make out of the projects was to take all of the samples from them so i could use them in other works ./ platforms. Having no idea what the project structure etc of the mpc was ... i was just kind of doing my thing without giving a crap about all of the backend stuff. Now i know the importance of these things but anyways
I took the samples from each of the projects and threw them all into a big folder which got tossed around many diferent computers etc.. really carelessly.
so I get an mpc live again somewhat reecently and I've got all of these projects whih are actualy pretty good, but every single one has missing samples. and some are playalble despite this, but many are just straight up unusable.. So: im wondering if there is asome easy way to get the mpc to search for the samples in the big sample folder, or is there some way to bring it all back in togehre as a batch process? pr am i just screwed here? I've done things like open thte xpj in a text editor and look for all of the samples listed but even then, i' have been getting samples missing errors etc.
I'm hoping that someone else has been as ignorant as me and hsa foudn some way around this..

A few loose ideas from the top of my head. I think you can try loading project and then loading the whole samples folder and maybe then the programs will pick up samples - then purge unused samples and save.

Or you can copy the whole samples folder to the project data folder then open the project and then purge unused samples.

Or just fix it manually as you know that are samples are within a single directory which makes it much easier to find stuff - I guess it should go super fast because of that.

Basically if the sample is listed in the XPJ it has to be in the associated projectData folder. So you need to go through the list and check that each sample is there, with the correct spelling. Unfortunately the MPC error message doesn't tell you wish samples are missing, but if you open the project in the MPC Software and look at the onscreen pads you should see a '?' before the missing samples in any program, so you can troubleshot that way. It might also do this in standalone, not sure. But for this kind of work, MPC Software is the more efficient option IMO.

BTW you'll also get this message if the sample itself is corrupt or not in a supported format, as the MPC will not load it.

good thinking / info. I wish , though that there was an automatic sample search, which seems like such an obvious feature to me... I'm not holding my breath for future updates, though. But the software does seem liek thae way to go .
I'm absoultely not fond of the load every sample to the project data folder over and over again ahha.. I did one thing where i emptied all sequences, etc into the large sample folder and it made a giant mess hahah.

also, any good advice on how i imight go about looking for the sample that needs to be imported, and hows to import them? maybe i should read the fankenif manual... but yeah which view / screen etc
