recent/latest sample at end of list - possible?

Hi all.
Does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere on the MPC to view the latest recorded/edited/imported sample at the end of the list rather than alphabetically?
Would be really handy for quick access...

I believe...in Sample Edit....You just have to Scroll the Samples with the Jog wheel.

Not possible, but a sorely missed MPC4000 feature. But in those days I think the developers were also heavy 'users' of these samplers, so adding these (IMO) obvious workflow optimising features just came quite naturally to them. I mean, who would think it was a good idea to start the sample list from the very beginning each time you assigned a batch of samples?

Yeah man even the JJOS had a better way of doing this. On the Force I just copy the pad to another & change the sample, but sometimes that's not Ideal if you don't want the pad parameter settings. It be cool if there was a pad settings reset feature - something to add to the feature list...DAMN you Wicked Red Ninja!

remember you can go to a sample by inputting it's number (or a number then you jump somewhere into the list)
-if you input a number high enough you'll be transported to the end of the list

What number & insert it where?

When sampling, start naming samples from "aaaz" and count down towards "aaaa". The first sample you record is aaaz, then aaay, then aaax, ... latest sampled sample is always the first in alphabetical order! It's the MPC way, embrace it. You just need some discipline. If you want more than 26 samples, start from aaazz. Only works for sampling, not loading though.

I don't know if you're serious or joking just to be an asss

This won't solve the problem if you load a bunch of new samples even if you used that naming system on them too.

Also keep in mind that on the Force samples from the RAM & those that are streaming from disk are ordered separately, so if the MPC ever got disk streaming, people will have all weird useless sample names. Maybe I'm not understanding your method.

They could add button combo or screen icons that jumps to the start/end of the list & even one for the last sample add to a program. There so many things Akai could do & would've done if the developers actually used the device that they designed to make music - not just a pay check:nod:
