peeps keep talking about hybrid 3 but it seems pretty rubbish; it sounds like the generic tube synth and every other vst out there

No. But your MPC One is a fully featured sampler, so you can always sample a KeyGroup for your favorite Hybrid 3 sounds.

Eh... there's actually some really great pattern-based stuff in Hybrid 3. Its power is in its dual step-sequencers - something all current plugins on the MPC/Force are missing (and 40+ effects on 2 inserts per part). But yeah, if you're not a fan of pattern-based stuff, I can see how it might not seem that impressive. It does have 6 oscillators though, and I've always felt Tube Synth was a scaled-down "basic" version of Hybrid 3.

it has some pretty neat sounding wavetables and is way more interesting for ambience/FX than tubesynth.
sure it's nothing special "compared to every VST out there" but like, it's free? ;D

I would love to have hybrid3 on the mpc:worthy:
I wouldn't need any other synth

You couldn't pry Jura or Mini-D from my cold, dead, hands. Hybrid 3 would absolutely be awesome on MPC/Force in standalone, but it doesn't come close to emulating a proper Juno 60/106 or Moog.

So what. There's so many things you can do to change that - unless you're just using presets....You aren't basing your opinion on a synth from it's presets are you?

basing it on presets and the raw tone of oscillators and also how the filter and resonance sounds as I manipulate the the cut off and resonance

All them sound shaping tools on the MPC/Force can make all the difference. For some music or sounds, TubeSynth's "generic vst syth cold and flat" sound is perfect. Tho, not so much if you don't like go deeper into sound design. A good approach is to asks, how can I use the sound shaping tools & other features that's there to make it sound the way I want? Come on man, make that synth your ****! They like it ruff.

I see it as opposite; I like the tone and sounds to be good out the box with minimal tweaking; instead of having to spend time polishing a turd so to speak, if I have to do extensive sound design and use a bunch of fx to make the synth sound good then the synth is no good

the analogy i use is like cooking a dish u dont want rotten ingriedients when ur cooking ur dish, u want quality ingredients then u cook up using those, as that makes it easeri to get a good outcome.
while ur idealogy is like just getting a bunch of crappy elements and then try make a good make something good, and while yes that does show skill, but i prefer to start with elements that sound good and inspire.
its the same argument that j-zone had back in the day; where he only wanted to use shitty dollar bin records to make beats; and yes he made some bangers but imagine how much better his beats would of been if looked for dope records instead of those dollar bing reject records.
also who wants to listent to those shitty records and chop notes out of a record u dont like and does not insipire u, versus choping sections and or notes from a record that does inspire.
