Hitting a pad on MPC to change pad in software as well?

Is there a setting so that when I hit a pad on the hardware, the corresponding pad in the software is selected as well?

i.e. so if I'm creating a program and tweaking pad settings in the software, I can quickly jump between different pads/samples by hitting the pad on the hardware that I want to select, instead of having to click on it in the software.

Does anyone know how to set that up? Thanks

I couldn't find anything in the manual about it.

That button doesn't seem to change anything for me.

Does anyone else have this issue? Is it standard for pads not to select in the software when you hit the hardware? I'm new to MPC so not sure if I'm missing something or if that is normal...
