Mpc no longer writing to SD card

I had to force eject an SD card full of photos and since then the internal reader no longer recognizes any SD. I tried using an external reader and now I can access my projects, but I can't save any editing, save new projects, or export any songs. There is a pencil icon with a slash through the SD on the browsing screen now that I've not seen before. Card is formatted to Exfat and I've tried multiple cards. Is there a way to edit the pencil icon? I'm lost.

I think you accidentally put it on write lock. There’s a small slide on the side off the card. Flip it over and try again.

Are you sure it’s affecting all sd cards and not just one specific card? If it won’t accept any sd card maybe try a preferences reset, but tbh I have no idea how force ejecting one card would somehow change the card reader’s ability to read any other card.

He says he's now using an external card reader.
