hi guys, been trawling through all the old posts on getting a power bank for my MPC One+

Very nearly pulled the trigger on a 19v :!:

Glad I didn't, last night I noticed the MPC One+ runs on 12v/3A (36w) not 19v/3.42A (65w) like the MPC One or other MPCs.
I didn't find anything about this on here, so I'm sharing.

This makes finding a mobile battery a lot easier for an MPC One+ because you can directly use USB-C PD 12v native, instead of the various ways of trying to get 19v for the MPC One (like using a specialised 19v power bank or USB-C-PD @ 20v).

So long as your power bank is capable of PD and rated over 36W it should work fine on a Plus, without overvolting or doing anything undesirable.

I tested this last night with a 12v USB-C PD cable + 65w Charmast powerbank and it works perfectly.

The Charmast or similar can be fast charged via USB-C too.

Best of all this means my kids can have those school shoes they need because I'm not buying an extra powerbank. Joking obviously, I won't be buying shoes when there's all those plugins I need

Is the lower power intake a possible source of all the problems (esp. storage issues, random glitches) that have been popping up here with this particular unit?

I have the original mpc one and that’s definitely plagued with storage issues for me, especially in controller mode (rarely recognises my sd card or usb disks when switching from standalone, have to remount them). Might be different to any issues one plus owners are getting though!

Sorry I just realised I said 12v / 3A (48w).

I obviously can't do multiplication before 8am because 12 x 3 = 36 not 48

This does not change anything about the recommended cable, it Just means you can get away with an even lower rated power bank of 36w on a One+. (The 48w originally stated would still work fine as would 100w and some of the insane ones they've got now).

So my post should say 12v / 3A (36w) not 48w. Sorry. I'm not sure how to change/update that mistake :?
