This topic taps into two issues that I as well as many others are having a hard time coming to terms with. To begin with, as the subject line reads I was wondering if anyone out there has made any progress in adding Custom Icons to 3rd Party Plugins for the Sounds Browser in Controller Mode. I find this to be inconvenient and irritating that I payed $2,000 for the MPC Key and while it is a game changing beast of a workstation, the
MPC software lacks the most basic tools of implementing a fully customizable environment for 3rd party plugins. Since Native instruments fan Developers have made a tool to add artwork and presets to 3rd party plugins I don't understand why Akai flopped to make this feature available considering they have a large touch friendly GUI that is both easier, faster and overall more convenient to navigate. This kind of defeats the purpose of having such a large screen real estate just to be limited to browsing the stock plugins with artwork then leaving pages of empty boxes without artwork, not to mention the fact that some of Akai's own plugins from InMusicBrands have also failed to implement artwork to their plugins in the sounds browser. and to top it off there is a ridiculously unnecessary hack you have to go through in order to add presets to browse for 3rd party plugins.

Speaking out on behalf of the MPC community this has become somewhat of a deal breaker and a gradual pain as time goes on using the MPC Key. After exploring everything there is with what the stock plugins have to offer you find yourself stonewalled and limited to what the software provides in tandem with the hardware which in turn forces the user out of the MPC hardware environment and back to the computer screen and mouse. This is just down right frustrating that Native Instruments of all brands has a solution to this yet Akai has seemingly abandoned a what should be otherwise an obvious integration. I would much rather use the MPC GUI for browsing 3rd party plugins with artwork than Native Instruments but it is starting to become clear now that the user has no choice but to switch to the Native Instruments hardware and GUI where I would much rather prefer to use anything Native Instruments related strictly in the Native Instruments environment when using their hardware. The Akai VIP software allows the user this type of access to their 3rd party plugins yet fails to integrate with the MPC GUI as your stuck with a generic default screen that does not constitute the 3rd party plugins to choose from without its corresponding Advanced keyboards. Again Akai why did you fail to have your own software be able to integrate with one of your top tier smart products to have its own user friendly GUI that would end up solving this problem. :WTF:

I can imagine a tool that could work similar to Akai's Expansions Builder as a 'Plugins Builder" that would allow the user to add their own artwork to the 3rd party plugin and point to the directory where it is able to scrape the data from its natively tagged categories to use for picking presets. Please if any Devs are out there reading this that are able to develop a tool to make this become a reality, I will be forever grateful and make it worth your while. You will be doing a great service for Akai and their Users.

While I agree this rant doesn‘t hit where it needs to. Tell Akai (please). I am content with what I get, and I don‘t tend to optimize. I‘d love your adjustment suggestions, but please suggest them yourself.

Will do! However most of these posts fall on def ears with Akai leaving it tasked to fan devs to pick up on this type of integration since NI fan Devs have accomplished this on their own merits I was outreaching in efforts to get the word out to anyone who might be actively working on something similar to shed some light on the topic that will actually be resourceful so your obviously missing the purpose of my "rant" so much as to take time out of your day to leave a useless comment but please do go on and elaborate where my rant should improve to satisfy your needs.
