Support and discussion for all of Akai’s modern standalone MPCs including the MPC X / X SE, MPC Live 1, 2 & 3, MPC One / One+, MPC Key 37/61.

Hi!

I have the MPC Live 2.11.4. I’ve one question about routing channels outputs. I’m using the AKAI in standalone (and no external mixer).

I’ve the main outputs (1/2 ) to the speakers. So, I’d like to send the two outputs (3/4) from the AKAI to another computer (at the same time that I can hear 1/2 through the speakers)

I could use the phone output but Its level hasn’t got an independent control ( it is linked to the master volume).

So, I’ve duplicate the tracks and the programs to assign different outputs to the programs. I explain myself :

1 track- drum program 1 (3 pads - each one has one recorded sample) - in the channel mixer I’ve assigned program output 1/2

2 track. I duplicate the drum program1 - program output 3/4

Now, If I arm track 1, I can listen output1/2 (I play one pad for example).
If I arm track 2, I can listen output 3/4 (I play the same pad)
But, When I arm track 1 and 2 at the same time, I cannot listen the 3/4 outputs at the same time that 1/2. I can only listen 1/2.

I could also duplicate the pads, with different outputs but , I think it isn’t very handy for live performing (I should play 2 pads exactly at the same time).

Hope someone could help me. Any idea?

Best

Thanks, for your quick reply.
I went to channel mixer - programas- sends (I increase the level or the two programs -one program send to 1/2 the other to 3/4 )

but it doesn't work. ..I cannot listen 1/2 and 3/4 at the same time. Am I missing something?
Thanks again,

you don't need to duplicate tracks or programs.
In the mixer Select "RETURNS" and select Return1 by tapping it.
In the "ROUTE" tab, select Return1 output to 3/4.
From now on, when you select any program or pad, you will be able to send your signal to outs 3/4 by going into "SEND" tab and cranking the send level of a given program/pad.

If you want to run your main outputs to two different destinations, buy a pair of splitters from Monoprice for $3.99.
