Could It Be? This is what my research shows, that's on the Horizon....

They are referring to the new FCC filing, but I didn't see anything even remotely close regarding a hint toward a KEY37, or anything else for that matter. Only 40Beatz can answer why.

Personally I think it's an MPC Studio with standalone functionality or a new MPC pizza oven, but who cares what I think lol

Of course I missed that page. The font size change seems sus, but I'll go with it. Thanks!

This is interesting though - the MPK37 is mini. The FCC label hints at a smaller size. Could this be a mini MPC Keys in a MPK37 form factor? Hmmmmm...

I'd say that's pretty conclusive...I guess it makes sense that they always planned for this, otherwise they would have just called the 'MPC Key 61' the 'mpc key'.

But the line drawing seem to be more squat compared to the MPK Min 37. Hopefully that means it will have a deeper case to accommodate a full size touchscreen.

If it's a similar footprint to the Live, I might consider it. I'd be hoping for a ram bump though, & a storage bay for an ssd, it would depend on price too. I'll keep my peepers peeled....

My last guess is that no matter how cool of an idea it *could* be, they'll find a way to totally screw it up. :D

I'm not a fan of the mini-keys on any of these controllers at all, so if this thing doesn't have a full touch-screen and battery to make it 100% portable (as much as something that size can be) like the Live II, then I'm not sure what the point of it is.

Just saw this myself totally went under the radar because I looked into the fcc database just last week. Final action date has already passed but there aren’t any images, are there? Guess Akai tricked us und kept things secret for once lol.
Hope it’s not a key 37 even though the case for it is fairly strong.

How many variations of the same device do we need or do they need to make? Honestly Akai needs to start another project. A synthesizer, or periphreal add-on for the MPC or something. They are becoming a one note piano. They got like 5 of the same item and the bastard love child of ableton and thats it.

Then it must be working for them. You don't think it makes good sense to have your products in many different form to meet the need of more customers. Before the 1K if you wanted to enter the Akai world you had choose between 1 of 6 big boxes (MPC60-4k). Now there's more options & they all share the same (buggy) OS
I don't see them stoppin' what's poppin' until the sells start droppin' :smoker:
