Support and discussion for all of Akai’s modern standalone MPCs including the MPC X / X SE, MPC Live 1, 2 & 3, MPC One / One+, MPC Key 37/61.

HI - I have just bought an MPC One+ and I connected its USB A port to the mioXL DAW port. Nothing happened. According to what I have read the 16 available ports should show up but they don't. I have tested the cable with other midi gear like a keyboard and a synth and they show up immediately. When I connect the mioXL to my computer it works as expected.
Does anyone know if the two are incompatible? I have the newest firmware on both.
Thanks.

Mpc usb is expecting….
1. Class compliant audio interface
or
2. MPC Software

On the other end of the usb cable.

MioXL is a midi hub device.

You will have to use midi din cables for mpc <—> MioXL.

In theory if the Midi device is class compliant it should work as well.
https://www.akaipro.com/akai-mpc-v2-8-i ... capability
"With MPC 2.8, simultaneously connect and route all the MIDI gear in your studio including class compliant USB Keyboards, MIDI interfaces and USB to CV modules, supercharging your I/O capability. "

According to this post:
viewtopic.php?f=48&t=215474&p=1863095&hilit=MIOXL#p1863095

another user has gotten it going.

And on their forum:
https://forums.iconnectivity.com/index. ... mment_5784
"FYI, I could test it and it is working fine. you can connect the type-b port to an akai MPC/force with multimidi. All the ports are available separately. very nice"

I was going to try to get mine working with Christmas break but didn't get chance. Hoping to the next week. Did you already create routes with their Auracle software? I don't think you'll see anything in the MPC until you've created routes on MioXL first.

Tested this out tonight and it worked with no issues. I already had used the Auracle Software to create a route so that the DAW HOST - went to each of the first 8 Din In/Out from when I was testing it on the computer. So with that already in my MioXL set as the first preset called "Studio". I plugged into the DAW port on MioXL and the USB A on the back of the MPC. I was then able to see the MioXL ports that I had under "Midi Port" on the MPC. I can then choose the midi channel and then when I hit my pads on the MPC, I can hear my synth get triggered.

Here's some screen shots I took:

Now I have that working, I need to setup RTP Midi on the MioXL and plug it into the computer and I'll be able to trigger my external synth gear from my computer or mpc, or I can trigger VST's from my MPC depending on the routes....

The other interesting thing was that both the MioXL Midi Ports and MPC Midi A & B ports were available. If you plugin an Audio card it disables the MPC's audio ports but with Midi, I could use either MioXL or MPC midi ports.

So far the MioXL is going to be welcome addition to my studio. Looking forward to all my sequencers (P3, Hapax , MPC Live II, MPC 4000 & Ableton/Bitwig) being able to access any of my hardware synths.

@Martin Dyrby let me know if it would help if I gave you my MioXL preset, if that will help? But I can confirm that the iConnectivity MioXL and the MPC is compatible and works.

Weird so the Mio has to be setup internally first?? We've had the ability to use class compliant MIDI interfaces since 2.7 or 2.8, before they added audio interfaces even.
My AMT8 just fires right up, but I don't think I can use any of the routing in it (I dont even think I can really do that on a Mac anymore either).

@renegadebliss did you manage to setup the RTP ports on the MioXL ok and does that mean you can now have midi showing up on the MPC and computer without having to switch the USB Daw port lead on the Mio?
