Hi. Something of a newcomer to the world of the MPC One and synths and I'm hoping you guys can help me out.

I've just got a Roland Aira S-1 synth that I'm trying to connect to my MPC One. The MPC One recognises the synth (via usb). I've set the audio track so I can hear it but I can only play it via the keys on the S-1. The pads on the MPC don't play anything. Every video I've seen shows synths being connected and the pads working straight away but apparently I'm missing something. Any ide

Yes, midi track created. I think it could be an issue with the midi out from mpc / in on the S-1. Excuse my ignorance, this is the first time playing with midi and hardware. The MPC reacts to the S-1, i.e plays when you start a sequence, but not the other way round.

well, what does your Prefs > Midi screen look like? in the Output section, is 'track' enabled for the synth?

is the midi monitor for the midi program set to 'auto'?

Finally got it working I think. Needed to fettle with the sync options on both MPC and S-1 as well as turning off the midi in tracks on the MPC as I kept getting a horrible distorted mess otherwise. Can't pretend I truly understand it but it seems to work.

Cheers for the input. I'll likely be back again soon to test superior knowledge.
