If you know XML,

then in the project data folder there is a file named "All Sequences & Songs.xal", you can open it, and edit songs there directly. Take XML node children from a song and copy paste them into another song.

Otherwise, wait for AKAI Pro to sell you that function for $9.99 in standalone evetually.

of course you can do that, but that's not the reason we want to copy a song

-first you need to comply with this AKAI logic (track-wise) to be able to convert to a sequence

we want to copy a song to investigate other (re)arrangements, if you convert to seq then you can't (re)arrange anymore

-more or less the same why you copy a sequence (to work on it further and keeping the original)

well, to be fair.. you need to comply with the track logic any time you are using song mode. not just when exporting > seq.

it is a bit dumb that there is no copy option, but you can always tap in the sequences in a new arrangement in song mode using the pads + rec/overdub.
which is probably just as fast, or faster.. than trying to manually re-arrange a pre-existing song that you copied.
