How do I easily set up END points when chopping up samples?

Can someone please help me out? When working with a very long sample that I'm creating slices out of, how do I easily and quickly put an end to each slice? There has to be a faster way to throw and end on each slice without requiring me to manually slide the E all the way the hell over to that current slice! What I'm trying to do is slice up about 100+ different slices out of this long 10 minute sample I have. Of course it's super simple to place START points for new slices but I can't find a way to quickly put ends to those slices! It's one of the main reasons sampling is kind of stressing me out on my MPC X. Someone please help! In case my question is confusing, you know how you tap a pad to set a new starting point? When I do that it puts the END automatically at the very end of the ENTIRE 10 minute sample! Therefore I have to drag and drag and drag to where I want it to be at! That takes way too long! There's got to be some kind of shortcut or faster way to place end points the same way it's super simple to create starting points? I'm trying to cherry pick very specific slices in this sample and the way I'm doing it takes so long it's not even worth doing! This my first MPC ever so if this is a dumb question I apologize. Just help a fellow X user out one time!

Whenever I press a pad to select the next slice I want to use, the END automatically goes all the way to the very end of the sample. And in cases where the sample is a minute or less long, that's simple enough. But when chopping up samples and trying to cherry pick samples of a long file, it's a nightmare. I was just hoping there would be a pad that would allow me to easily select the end of each slice rather than rolling my END (Q KNOB) for 10 minutes. Make sense? Also.. I'm fairly new with the MPC X. Maybe if what you commented was in a video, it would make more sense to me. I enjoy placing my start points live as the audio plays and was hoping I could just hit a pad or some kind of shortcut that also places the END point where I want them as well as the audio plays. Hope that makes sense.

EDIT - I'm cutting these slices in MANUAL CHOP mode if that helps.

I wish while in manual chop mode that I could press a new pad to START a new slice and HOLD the pad and the moment I release the pad it places an end point.
That's essentially what I'd like to do. Instead, if I press the new pad it'll START the new slice but then it'll just keep that slice going until I press the next pad but I don't want that. I don't like all the inbetween audio inbetween the slices.

It‘s probably easiest to unlink, then use the touch screen to move the end marker.

Appreciate it. Do you know how I can avoid accidentally re-writing my slices? How do I avoid accidentally changing the slices I've already placed on pads? I keep doing it on accident and it's driving me insane!

I'm still thinking that perhaps I'm just not asking my question the right way and that it's leading to confusion. When I'm in MANUAL & CHOP mode I'm having issues where if I play slice 1, rather than stopping when it reaches slice 2, it just keeps on playing and that's not what I want! I want slice 1 to end and I only want slice 2 to play if I press pad 2 or the pad that slice 2 is associated with. I know I can do this with LINK SLICES enabled but I don't want link slices enabled because there's plenty parts in this long sample that I do not want involved with the rest of the slices I've set up. Perhaps that's a better way of asking my original question? If not, then maybe I need to just record a video because I know a video would be super easy to make sense of what I'm trying to ask. Load your sample in the MPC

Go to CHOP, AND KEEP LINK SLICES ON

Start chopping in manual mode, and chop ALSO where you want the previous slice to end.

For each slice you really want to keep.

select the slice

hit NON DESTRUCTIVE CONVERT => SAMPLE TO PAD => slice type = pad parameter

Touch the pad you want to assign the slice to.

press DO IT

repeat

Why not slice both the parts you want, and the parts you don't, so you hit the pad for both start and end of the slice (rather than hold it down.) Then when you load it into your drumgroup you either only use odd numbered slices, or you go through them and delete the in-between ones (making sure Link Slices is Off) and then auto-create your Program once only wanted slices remain.

Note: You need the Link Slices On when you're initially creating the slices (otherwise you won't be setting an end point.) Only turn of to delete the unwanted slices, so the wanted ones don't change size and include the audio from the deleted slice. (Or as it's a really long life extracting sections may be a better idea anyway.)

Thank you guys for the advice. I've been producing in FL Studio for 20 years but I'm such a damn newb on the MPC X. I know what I WANT TO DO.. and I know to you guys it seems super simple, but you have to explain this stuff to me like I'm a complete moron! I've been following people like TubeDigga, Bolo, Jae Synth and several others on YouTube and learning a lot from them, but there's just little quality of life things that I'm still trying to figure out to make the workflow as smooth as possible.

PS - Despite producing in FL for the last 20 years (thousands of instrumentals produced during that time).. I've literally NEVER bothered with sampling until I purchased this MPC X. So I'm basically SUPER NEWB with sampling in general, plus new to the X. I've had my X since it was released, but stopped using it about a month after purchase because I couldn't stand that there wasn't a tuner available and many other features I felt it should've had since day 1. Last week I finally updated it and have been on the grind ever since!

I think this is the information I've been looking for. I don't want the BS audio that's INBETWEEN the slices I'm setting up, and I also don't want to have a bunch of pads with just crap artifacts and unwanted slices on them. I wanted to make sure that EVERY PAD is a slice I actually WANT rather than having half of them only there to cut out that unwanted BS. I want my slices to turn off immediately at the tail rather than to continue going with the dead air/artifacts that are inbetween the slices. I think your reply is probably most helpful! I'm going to put what you suggested to the test. Thanks a ton!

Honestly I wish they would add an update to where we can turn off ONE SHOT while in manual chop mode and have it to where we have to hold the pad for however long we want the slice to be and the second we release the pad it automatically puts the END of the slice wherever we release the pad. That would 100% solve my problem all together!

Can someone explain the pros v cons with using MANUAL CHOP vs TRIM? I do everything in manual chop mode because I really don't get what TRIM is for aside from placing a start and end point and normalizing the audio file, or extracting etc.
