i no the keys don't light up my pads my bottoms should light up the screen is on no other lights

So none of the buttons light up? Is this in standalone and controller mode? Other than PREFERENCES > RESET you could try re-installing the firmware (download from your account) or probably best to raise a ticket with Akai Support as it could be faulty hardware.

For clarity, are we talking the pads or the buttons? Your posts are sufficiently vague to leave open what your actual problem seems to be.

Pads, keys, buttons, and the screen are all different things and I not sure what you’re talking about when you use those words.

Pads will light up until you assign something to them. They do light up when you boot up the device right?

More clear and specific information from you would be very helpful. Not even sure you have a malfunction. Could you explain the problem better?
