Yeah, unintuitive for sure, but it will come together if you let it sink in.
To navigate screens and modes you can get a lot from Shift + Pad to get different modes.
When you chop a sample, it should automatically be one shot and mono so each sample chokes each other out.
Maybe just spend a bit more time with the workflow. I didn’t work a lot with my MPC1000, but a touchscreen instead of moving around with up, down, left, right buttons (like DOS!) was just too much for me.
Frankly the new MPC are convoluted because they keep old workflows in there. I’m hoping 3.0 starts a new clean slate and better gui.
