Record Audio from DAW into Standalone MPC

I prefer a “dawless” setup and have my Roland Fantom connected to the MPC Live II where I can play the midi in and then record the audio after armen the audio record button. This works well… However, I have a few VSTs (Korg Triton and M1) and in some cases would like to record some of their sounds into my standalone MPC. When connecting the MPC via the USB B cable into my laptop using the MPC software I’ve managed to get the audio out of my MPC Live 2, Im also able to receive the midi data, but when I’m trying to audio record the track I’m not getting any results… Is this even possible to record the audio straight from the DAW into the standalone MPC? You can get audio from your MPC software to your standalone many different ways. If you have a sd card in your MPC, you can bounce to sample and export the sample and when it asks you where you want to save it, select the sd card that is in your MPC. You can do this with many things like drum programs, midi patterns, sequences, etc.
I suppose another way you could get audio from your laptop to your unit, if you're not in controller mode, is via a male to male headphone cable. In preferences, set your MPC software's "audio out" to your laptop's interface or (Asio4all if you don't have an interface), then plug one end of the cable into the "audio out" on your laptop/interface and the other end into your "audio in" on the MPC.
Somewhere here on the forum is also an entire tutorial for making keygroups from VST presets so you can use them in standalone.

Thanks for your response! Sampling could be an interesting option here. What Id really like to achieve is simply playing on my keys and that audio output is able to be recorded into my MPC for that particular sequencer when needed. Perhaps your option with male male headphone cables is the one that suits the most. However, I’m questioning as I’m currently using the usb b cable coming out of my MPC into my laptop should be able to do the same trick? Audio over USB right?
