Shift lock for fine resolution q-link tweakjng

I’ve been trying what it says in the subject line but it doesn’t seem to work - every time I adjust a q-link having activated shift lock, the lock disengages. Normal behaviour? Trying to slowly open a filter over a very long sequence without holding the shift button down all day…

you need to hold Shift at all times, Shift Lock (double tap shift) is only temporary (2sec ?) and is intended for use with shift button functions so you can use one hand only, while shift button and shift function button are far apart.
