Help needed: Editing & Transport Controls

Hi! Noob here. Have MPCX SE, Toshiba laptop (Win10) and MPK 249.

So far I have figured out very basics like Standalone vs. Controller mode, recording a sample and extracting Stems components. (Did it more than once which I guess is why I have 2 of everything: Drums, Drums 1...)

PRETTY MUCH STUCK at editing.

(Not trying to "chop" samples). I "Stemmed" an entire song and am looking to grab a vocal line or two. I envisioned transport and editing controls a bit differently than what I am experiencing. I hit Pad A01 and it plays from beginning. Trying to trim minutes off front, save a line or two and discard rest. Trying various "transport" and other controls with no luck. >>, Play, Stop, Edit, Trim, drawing on the touch screen... I just know (hope?) there is an easy way to do this. Just not finding it...

Any/all help is greatly appreciated.

You're trying to run before you can walk.

Most of what you want is in the Sample Edit screen.

Try the "Process" menu items in the sample editor.
