MPCX gain knob issue

Hey, I’m trying to sell my MPCX, and I’ll be replacing it with a ONE.

Long story short I bought the X because I liked the mpc/usb functionality and was already using my Live this way when I bought the X new. So I had it going usb to my tascam model 12, bypassing the input section on the machine. Now I want to sell it, near-perfect condition but I’ve discovered that the gain 1 knob in its left most position is at a higher gain to start than the right channel. There is no hiss or noise floor issue… I can’t figure it out. I thought it might be a fix in preferences menu (ie setting internal gain like the SP404 but guess not. Tried to sell this thing several times but when I bring up the issue they don’t want it anymore. Do you think resetting the factory settings might work? Or does anyone have this issue and know the solution? Thanks for reading

I the same kind of issue on the Force. Lucky there's 2 gain knobs, so I just boost the lower 1 until it's balanced. Sucks, but it's not the end of the world. I would just add this issue in the post & offer a discount. Maybe even show a pic of how much you have to boost it. In the long run it may be cheaper to get it fixed & then resell it.

I assume you checked via the gain display of the actual L/R channel level, possibly with nothing connected to the MPC.
In that case it‘s rather common that both channels have a different basic noise floor.
(there is always noise, even if you don‘t hear it, it‘s still measured and displayed)
Open sockets capture a lot of „noise“ by nature, they are supposed to be „terminated“ by an input, so simply connect a (silenced) stereo source to input L/R, f.e. a CD Player, ideally one in a setup with a grounded main supply.
(afaik the MPC X has a 2pin PSU, not a 3pin)

This is more or less standard today and may result in quite different behavior regarding noise floor, depending on your particular installation and what else may be connected to the same wall circuit.
No need to worry, the suggestion above is just to provide reliable conditions.
There‘s a high probability that levels will match again after the MPC is put on a „clean“ main power circuit.
(at least according to my experience on a single power line with about 50 outlets for studio gear)
