Hi guys. Just got my MPC One a month ago and have made decent progress with learning the basics. I’m venturing into the more complex areas of track effects/automation etc now which is very alien to me. I want to make electronic/downbeat type stuff with ambient tones and wondering how I can achieve certain effects with the MPC One both standalone and in the computer software. For example on this popular track at 01:00

A pulsing/oscillating movement of what sounds to be a few synth notes begins moving up and down. This type of effect I’ve heard in a lot of electronic/dance music and soundtrack scores. Any one have any ideas as to how to achieve this kind of sound to produce background textures for some of my beats? Is it a case of fiddling with the low pass filter with automation or some type of modulation? As ambient sounds are gonna be a big part of my sound I guess I’m gonna have to get fluent in the technical stuff!
Much appreciated fellow MPC heads. This is some machine
