MPC ONE Ethernet

Just trying to connect my MPC ONE to the internet via Ethernet to activate stems, to no avail. I've manually entered my IP address and DNS to my public IP address. It shows that it's connected in the ethernet window, but when I go to the activations tab I get the "attempting to connect to network" I've seen people get it to work with usb to ethernet adapters, bypassing the ethernet port all together. I have one of those on the way, but would like to know why the ethernet port isn't working when it says it's connected. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have a read of this thread. There is also post about 10 down about using tethering a phone, this worked for me in the past, when I had issues.

Sometimes, after connecting the ethernet cable to the MPC, it takes a few minutes for the connection to be established. It works better if the address is set to automatic rather than manual.

Funnily enough I literally did the same about 2 hours ago. Lots of head scratching post 2.15 update (which was easy of course via USB to my PC) but nothing I saw anywhere on the Akai site helped with how to load and activate stems on the One. It was only by chance I thought I would hook up the cable to the router cos the MPC was asking to 'connect'. I haven't seen an ethernet cable for about 5 years...I thought I could just do stems via USB cable or USB stick from my PC but it appeared not.

I didn't touch any of the settings in the page with IP addresses, it was set to 'automatic' I think. After a while it showed 'connected' and the InMusic screen came up on the MPC. First time I have seen that - all my FW updates and plugins (I only have free ones) have always been done via USB stick before.

I then had to login to my InMusic account on the PC and enter the code that was shown on the MPC InMusic screen. Lots of whirling wheels and some 5 minutes later I was able to see Stems and the 'activate' button on the MPC. To confuse matters further you then also have to download the software to the MPC and I had heard it should be download to the same folder as 'plugins' (which is on my SD card) but there was no option to do that, I could only select 'SD card'. Shit or bust I thought by this time so pressed the icon and with all the stars aligned Stems finally showed up in sample edit.

I can't believe how much aggro it was to install tbh.

And I've since tried it on 3 different tracks and it seems pretty shit.

Oh well, it was only a tenner.
