I'm trying to reorganise my pad banks but am finding something so simple being not so in the MPC.

Example; I'm trying to move sounds from pad bank H to pad bank A. I can't drag drop (or at least when I try it doesn't work).

Please someone tell me I'm overlooking something very basic here?

Copying pads isnt a good work around as I have to keep deleting original. I can't find a simple to use 3rd party ap to do this either.

How are you veteran MPC users doing this?

When you have a drum track in main menu (previously a drum program) you just press the "Copy"-button and that will allow you to copy from a selected pad to a destination pad.
And then you simply press the "Delete"-button to delete all pads that you want to remove.

You can copy a whole bank as well.
Click the Pen-icon when the drum program is selected on the Main screen.
Click Copy pads.
Choose Bank in Copy type and From bank A (for instance) to Bank H (for instance).
Click Do it.
This all takes a few seconds.
Then when you delete the old pads/sounds you can do them all at once. Also just takes a few seconds.

Thanks but that's not what I'm after... I'm not trying to copy, I'm trying to reorganize my drum programs by moving samples between pad banks.

Copying & deleting might take a few seconds but when I'm doing it all the time those seconds add up. I should be able to click drag in the software a sample from pad bank H, then press the target bank via the hardware eg pad bank A (which changes the view in the software) and then drop the sample from pad bank H accordingly.

Appreciate the response regardless

Submit it to Akai as a feature request, but in the meantime using the 'copy pads' function will provide a way to achieve it, but you'll have to delete pads after. You can 'swap' pads in the MPC Software, but only within the same pad bank, you have to hold down CMD while dragging (likely CTRL on a PC).
