wonder if the MMC bug is fixed since they've fixed it in 3

Also I had a play with stems properly on stand alone for the first time yesterday. Pretty great actually -- enjoyed breaking samples apart and then throwing away the layers I didn't like, keeping the ones with character. Great way to generate more material to work with, can see myself using it regularly.

Really wish they’d make it where you can chop a sample and then create a program with the stems. I know the work arounds but it’s annoying

so does this mean that Akai will keep supporting 2.0 for a period of time after 3.0 is released?

I don't think this means anything other than they've realised there's a tweak they can do for stems, so they are releasing it for the current stable edition, 2.15.

They'll almost certainly still provide a period of continued technical support to people still on 2.15, but IMO 2.x unlikely to receive bug fixes or new features once mpc3 goes stable, they'll want to push everyone over to 3.4.

Has inmusic ever released a stable version of anything?

it's a big improvement to stem separation in my experience.
Less artifacts, cleaner separation, bass with picking transients.
pretty pretty nice and usable as advertised, not strange sound design

Look forward to hearing the improvements! Hope the next 3 update has it

Well, I tried the 3beta for a couple of days and then I got back to 2.15.1.
Yes, you really appreciate how stable is 2.15.1 after trying 3beta
And I really like how finally Mpc2 became so stable and good to use.
I really don't recommend to jump to 3 if you wanna make music. I suggest to enjoy the final result of 2.
Then, if you prefer to work for Akai for free and lose time with bugs everywhere, crashes and general mess, go for 3beta.

Yeah exactly.
But having these new powerful features- disk streaming, qlink macros, linear arranger- is very tempting.
The huge potential is there, the new GUI is very nice as is the way they organized and polished the new architecture.
But it's still buggy and unstable.
So maybe 3 or 6 months before we can use it flawlessly, I hope

That's the thing. It's beta software, not an early release of the official software. It shouldn't be a surprise that's it buggy/unstable.

Akai releasing it to the public isn’t them getting users to work for free. It let's them & user find more bugs on all different models faster. It's a choice to download with the understanding it's for testing it & more importantly, reporting problems & offer feature/workflow suggestions.
