Hands free MPC 3

Hi all

I took my Live mk1 out of retirement last night (moved to a Force a while back) to use as a basic synth/groove tool for a jam with a friend (also a first for a while...). Updated it to the latest official fw (2.xx), all good.

I like to use the Live largely hands free for this so I can play guitar, so typically set up sequences for different song sections and then trigger those with a foot controller.

Thinking ahead, I know if I update to 3.xx I will lose the sequence functionality. Are there scenes on MPC 3 (as with Force) and if so, can these be triggered by external MIDI devices? Or some other way of doing this - triggering different song sections via external MIDI?

MPC3 is basically the same as MPC2. You can change scenes using MIDI program change messages.

Ah great, thanks for putting me right. It's programs that have gone, not sequences.

Must admit, I've been aware of 3.xx but not looked into it until now. Just found a very helpful loopop video comparing 2.xx and 3.xx for anyone else in the same boat.
