Using XY macros with MPC3

I had troubles to understand how the XY macros are to be used. Just to make sure I'm not missing anything:

I have to go to the "QLink Edit" view to both configure AND use the XY pad.

Is that right?

I tried to access the XY pad with the XYFX pad because I have a physical button for it and it makes IMHO more sense to go that way. After all the other view is actually dedicated to configuring and not using the QLinks.

BTW, the XY pads are project only? No way to configure a global pad or at least save/load a set for outputs and submixes.

You can add an xy to tracks. You can’t automate the one on the output.

I would watch a video on using the xy macros. I’m pretty lost but haven’t really taken more than a look or two.
