How to create new randomisations?
It seems that, once you select RANDOM in the Slice Motion menu, you get a randomisation, but it will repeat over the course of your sequence.
I want to be able to create new randomisations, e.g. every time the sequence loops, or at least after some kind of trigger command.

The ordering survises even a reload. And a restart of the machine :)

The trick is to hit that pad ;) Only when I hit the pad I get random results.

As it is now it is quite pointless. Ok, it saves you the hassle to chop up a high hat sample and rearrange the slices (to stick to the example of the promo video). But this is a very limited use case.

IMHO this belongs to the MPC3 bugs threads.

My guess is that slice motion borrows code from the arpeggiator's random function, because this is exactly how that operates as well.

That said, I wouldn't hold your breath for them to change it to a true random. Years ago when I was beta testing, I brought up how the MPC LIve's random arpeggiator did not behave like the Akai MPK-249 random arpeggiator and explained how a RANDOM function should maintain a RANDOM pattern. The Akai rep at the time said they had no intention on ever changing it, and actually went the extra step to explain how it was an unrealistic request.

So yeah. They might be feeling charitable enough to fix it these days, but I wouldn't ever expect it to happen.

We'll see.

I hope that they fix it as they promoted the feature in the announcement video.
