Sequencing Roland t8 compact with mpc live

Hello, im having trouble trying to set up the midi connections for my new Roland t8 compact with my mpc live2.

I have a din midi cable connected to port A on my mpc with a red midi adapter on the other end going into the midi in on the t8.

On my mpc I have a midi track set to channel 10 with a midi program set to program channel 10.

On the t8 I have the rhythm midi channel set to 10 but when I hit the pads on the mpc nothing happens.

I’ve tried playing different octaves in case it was that but for the life of me I can’t work this out.

I’m on the version 2 operating system, I haven’t tried the 3 beta version as I’m waiting for it to be officially released.

Any help is greatly appreciated

First, check you have the correct MIDI to mini jack cable.

https://minimidi.world says Roland T-8 uses Type A.

Thank you I’ll take a look. I suspect that is the issue as I’m using the adapters that came with my Arturia microfreak and according to your diagram Arturia is the wrong ones

Yes you were right mate! Thank you. I tried a different one and all is well. I’d been searching the internet for a couple of hours this morning trying to sort this and not once did I read that those little adapters aren’t all wired up the same and as far as I can tell there’s no indications on them to say which type they are
