Clip Mode and midi

I am using MPC live ll Ver. 2.15.1

I have a clips program with banks A-D filled with samples. I also have a keyboard connected
to midi MPC 1. When I play a sample with the pad and try to play a keyboard program with the keyboard, it sounds as if the keyboard is playing the different samples like a keygroup with a sample on each key. What am I missing here?

Is it possible to “copy pads” in clip mode?
