Does MPC Key 37 operates like MPC One+ with TASCAM Model 12?

Hello all.

I am non-MPC owner (yet) looking for a purchase advise.

I am happy Tascam Model 12 owner and after some review I am very happy with the way Tascam Model 12 and MPC One Plus operate together as for DAWless production and even for live performance.

I am still not decided to buy the MPC One Plus because I would like to know if the MPC Key 37 would operate in the same way. I am mostly a guitar player but I would love to have the keys integrated in my creative workflow and mostly for live performance.
My setup is basically my guitar, bass, pedalboard and amp. An Elektron Analog Rytm MK I, a Tascam Model 12 , a Novation Minonova and this would be the last piece of DAWless production and performance gear.

So the MPC Key 37 and MPC One+ are essentially identical in that they run the same OS with the same feature set for the most part. The Key 37 of course integrates a keyboard, and it has buttons and shortcuts for that. I started on the modern MPCs on the MPC One vanilla, and I used a Tascam Model 12 with it. Fast forward, I now have a Key 61 with the same Model 12 and I didn't have to do anything special to get it working. Just plug it into a USB-A port and set the audio interface in the MPC settings. Simple. You should be fine to use the Model 12 with either unit. L8r

Thank you for you answer. Do you mind sharing which version of MPC software you are using? A user in the forum of MPC 3.4 public beta says its not working at all besides some live performance issues (apparently related to the workflow itself. I haven't used the software yet).
