What is the best function for the MIDI Thru port on the MPC Key 61? Like, I get what it is, but what would be the best use case for it? TIA for replies. L8r!

Not all, but some gear that have only midi in/out may have features/options in menus for midi “soft-thru”.
Soft-thru is a midi out port that can be configured for out or thru.
These days I use midi <~> usb adapter for older midi port only gear.
All usb from gear go to a powered USB 3.0 hub this allow all the gear midi <~> midi if configured.
Some gear can also see each other’s hdd/ssd and pull samples from there.
I also placed a 256gb usb thumbstick w/ samples in the hub, MPC X, Kronos2 and MPC Key61 can pull samples from there if needed.
