I think they may be making too much money with what they do now than to risk offering this service but you never know we will see.

Ive reached out to them recently about partering up on the repair side since i heard they have been backed up with work but no response, yet.

Well, given that, for example, the live 2 replacement carrier boards are currently on back order with no eta, is it any surprise that mpc stuff may consider this quite a risky proposition? They definitely have the skills BTW, but they also would have to consider worst case scenarios when evaluating this as a viable business proposition.

I have a feeling they may have enough connections to obtain schematic and board view data to mitigate worst-case scenarios. These machines aren’t that complicated; it’s just about having the right information and tools available to fix them, and the risk is almost nonexistent. The worst-case scenario is that parts like the RK3288 disappear from existence, as the most vulnerable components would be the APU and/or the eMMC, since it contains crucial data needed to boot the device. So again, if they have good connections, working on these devices would be a breeze for them with minimal risk. However, who knows if it’s worth their time or if they even have staff capable of microsoldering?

BTW, from a consumer perspective it would be good to see a more detailed warranty information directly on the site (currently it just says ‘ 90 Day Warranty on parts and labor if the RAM modules stop working’). For example, stating what you would do if you break things while working on the mpc, or other scenarios such as mpc being lost or damaged during return shipping, policies in relation to import duties on international return shipping etc.

I know you've said here on this forum that you would always put things right but I think people would be more likely to go for this if there was a more detailed warranty up on your site that they can read before purchase.

As stated in the video i got the customer a brand new key 37 but moving forward i have more skill and knowledge in my arsenal after this messup to fix things even faster now so that may answer your question about what happens if i damage something.

As for shipping ive included a bit more information and if it came to the thing being lost that would fall on the shipping company if it happened on the way to the customer since i only use UPS with signature required. Not to say ill just tell the customer to deal with them but i would also try and help if its not out of my control.
