I rhyme and make beats. I always end up not recording what I write or tracking my beats, because for years I’ve been stuck on using ProTools. For some reason PT just never clicked with me. I don’t enjoy the layout or process of working with it.
So recently i got Ableton, and I kind of dig it. It’s more intuitive to me than PT.
My hope is that by using it to make beats it will make recording vocals more streamlined than tracking everything on PT.
Now I’m trying to figure out what is best to do on the Mpc and what is best to do in Ableton. For exp, should I chop on the Mpc stand alone, and just track to Ableton? Or is it better to chop and sequence in Ableton, using the MPC just as a midi controller?
How do you personally use Ableton with your MPC?
