MIDI FOOT CONTROLLER?

Im percussionist in a band trying figure out how to implement my MPC into our live performances. Since my hands are often occupied by playing the congas, bongos, etc. Im not able to efficiently utilize my MPC.
Im contemplating hooking up a midi foot controller to trigger samples, one shots, play midi notes, and manually automate effect values and such, while playing percussion.

Does anyone have experience connecting midi foot controllers to an MPC?
What foot controllers are compatible?

Nothing can beat this for the price but it's stock firmware is a bit restrictive. To get the most out of it you would need to upgrade it with a 3rd party eprom for 30 - 40 dollars.

I've got a FCB1010 and [I think] the latest 3rd party eprom. I've used it with Koala and my s5000 without any issues, though a bit of a pain to program - you need the manual to hand and just work through it step by step. I've not hooked it up to the MPC but It's just a midi controller, shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks! I was looking at the FCB1010. There are few of these used for sale online at good price. Although, I’m not so familiar with EPROMS. I did a quick search for an EPROM for the FCB1010 and found the EUREKAPROM. It had listed compatible devices but didn’t list the MPC.
Can you recommend me a EPROM or where to find one?

That's a question, off the top of my head I can't remember. The guy I bought the pedal off gave it to me in a plain anti-static package and said he was too nervous to install it. I had to cut some hot glue holding the original in place then just pop it out the socket and put the new one in. I might get a chance to pop it open in a few days and see if anything is printed on it.

Looking at Google, I don't think I have the latest one anymore. I got mine...quite a few years ago and its an UnO chip, not an UnO2 with WiFi.

These are your options. You can even make it wireless but for quite a bit more. Id say UNO2 is fine but some of the more pricey options may suit a need you have.
