I new to the Akai MPC I got mine a couple months ago and wanted to ask users who used MPC since the beginning of previous OS (2.0?). How long did it take to have version that was up to task. What I mean is that even I as newbie can tell that some features existing in the previous already is missing or not functioning well.
One example is in Grid mode where zooming and horizontal scrolling with Q-links is missing. In Arranger Mode these two essential functions exists. Another example is when one edit notes in Grid and press the quantise button in left bottom corner, to continue edit notes one has to move the "marker" that probably is at the bar/beats counter, so changing anything with the data wheel or the q-links will transport time cursor forward or backward.
Also if i zoom in to certain view Arranger mode I expect that to be consistent when I change to Grid mode.
Small thing for some and maybe not an issue for some. But I have used Pro Tools in my work (post production sound) for 30 years so i know what to expect and what is important to have a nice workflow. This is annoying and kills all the fun.
I'm puzzled by the fact that Akai on Inmusic choose to release the two latest versions as anything else but beta versions. The same fact worries me that a full version, which doesn't feel like work in progress, will never happen or that we have to wait unreasonable long time for it.
So with the previous OS, how long did it take to get a version without obvious flaws described above?
I have used 2.15 and that felt much better. It felt like tools was helping, rather than the opposite.
